Our Student Living Guru

With over 18 years’ experience in student accommodation and education, Michael knows what it takes to make students feel safe, supported, and right at home.

He’s known for turning big ideas into real-life improvements, from launching wellbeing programmes to creating student experience funds that make campus life even better. Away from Uliving@Herts, he’s usually out exploring a new hiking trail or tackling his next DIY project.

With over 35 years’ experience in public infrastructure, Gordon makes sure Uliving@Herts’s finances and projects run like clockwork – especially when it comes to student accommodation. He’s all about making sure every penny helps create spaces where students can thrive.

Having seen two of his own kids through university, he knows exactly what students need to focus, relax, and enjoy campus life. When he’s not working the numbers, he’s usually swapping stories about student life with his own “expert panel” of graduates – also known as his children.

Professional people whisperer Ellie can often be found wandering around campus chatting with students, making sure they have everything they need.

Solo travelling is her go-to stress reliever – she loves nothing better than discovering new countries, new cultures, and new coffee spots!

Nick lives and breathes Uliving@Herts’s values and loves seeing the same in others.

A sporty outdoorsman, he loves camping, nature and travel, and has played sports for Jamaican national teams.

As a project Administrator at Uliving I ensure a smooth delivery of all tasks. I enjoy working in an environment where organisation and attention to detail help create positive outcomes for students. Outside of work, I have a passion for nature, travelling around the world, yoga, and adrenaline filled activities.

Jennifer deals with the serious business of finance, making sure the money goes where it’s needed so our students can thrive.

On her days off, she can often be found in the much less serious setting of a theme park or funfair, indulging her inner child!

Wan-Yin says he thrives on the positive energy of students – so he must be literally buzzing in this job!

For Wan-Yin, balancing the books is easy – after all, he balanced his accountancy qualification with having children!

From Student Representative to Student Ambassador, Gloria is passionate about making campus feel like home. She enjoys meeting new people, sharing her experiences of living on campus, and helping students settle into university life. She couldn’t imagine living anywhere other than on campus and loves being part of such a vibrant student community. If you see her around, don’t be shy, she’s always up for a chat!

Vimbai is a final-year Computer Science student with a passion for technology, problem-solving, and connecting with people. As an ambassador, she enjoys supporting student representatives, helping new students settle in, and creating a welcoming community for everyone.
